2025 Rutherford Pool Kids Triathlon
Saturday, August 9th, 2025- 8:30 AM, Rutherford Pool
Children 4 to 12 years old are invited to participate in this “fun”draiser presented by the Kiwanis Club of Ypsilanti in Cooperation with The Friends of Rutherford Pool. This is an introduction to triathlons for kids and is not timed. Participation and fun are the main objectives. The challenge will be to complete the course!
REGISTRATION IS NOT OPEN YET STAY TUNED
REGISTRATION AND PAYMENT CAN BE COMPLETED AT THE POOL. At the pool we can accept cash, check or charge. Complete one registration form per child participating.
SWIM LEG
(A) Non-swimmer: Walk/run three lengths in the shallow end of the pool (39 yards).
(B) New swimmer: Swim one length in the deep end of the pool (25 yards)
(C) Experienced swimmer: Swim three lengths in the deep end of the pool (75 yards)
BICYCLE AND RUN LEGS
During the event, kids may select to bike then run 1 lap (1/2 mile) or 2 laps (1 mile) around the Recreation Park trail. They tend to change their minds during the event when they are tired! We will also have a running “shortcut” across the park for our youngest racers this year.

Adults may buy a t-shirt for $TBD please indicate your size on the form and include the additional money.
Late registrations will still be accepted through Wednesday, August 7th, but you must complete a paper registration at the pool. Unfortunately, T-shirts are not available for late registrations.
We will request you sign a permission form on race day that you understand that Friends of Rutherford Pool may publish images of you or your children on the Rutherford Pool website and other publications/social media for promotional purposes. Rutherford Pool is not responsible for unintended misuse of images resulting from their publication. Names will not be published with the images.
**Participants are responsible for their own swimming, cycling, and running equipment, a working bicycle, and a helmet in good condition. There will be snacks provided at the end of the event, and a hydration station on the course. **
